The Swissmar Classic 8-Person Raclette Grill has three different versions of metal plates: non-stick, cast iron, and cast aluminum plates. The cast iron version requires seasoning and the cast aluminum does not need seasoning. The other side of the grill top has 1/4 inch ridges, and the other side is flat with two circles that take up most of the surface. The Raclette machine is imported from China, and it is usable in the States. It is suggested to put pans on the bottom while everything else cooks on the top, and it is possible to fit 8 pans at once either on the top or bottom. The Cast iron version is recommended. Positive Customer reviews suggest that the Raclette Grill is great quality and food cooks well. It heats up quickly, does what it should, and heats evenly. The tins are easy to clean. Negative reviews point out that the quality isn’t what it should be which resulted in one of the spatulas melting with normal use. The granite stone grill top takes Two hours to cook raw vegetables, even after preheating for 30 minutes, which is not efficient. The granite top is more of a warmer than to actually cook things on.
