The SteelSeries Rival 3 gaming mouse has a TrueMove Core Optical Sensor, 6 programmable buttons, and split trigger buttons. Most customers find it to be an excellent mouse that is responsive and has basic configuration ability. The customizable and fun lighting feature is also well-received. However, some customers noted that the mouse does squeak when clicked and sometimes requires clicking a second time. Others mentioned that the SteelSeries application has to run Constantly in the background for the color/light settings to apply. Some customers found the mouse disconnecting, which was fixed by unplugging and replugging the USB connection to the desktop. Although it can be used for gaming, other customers advise that there are better options at this price point. The tracking is excellent, and the ability to configure the buttons is great. However, those with large hands may not find it ergonomic enough. Lastly, one customer's dog ate the mouse three days after they received it.
