Detective PikachuTM Returns (US Version)

Detective Pikachu™ Returns for the US Version has received mixed feedback from customers. Some customers have enjoyed the game and found it cute and enjoyable, particularly if they were fans of the Detective Pikachu movie. The graphics are praised, and the inclusion of voice acting is appreciated. However, there are several complaints about the gameplay and story. One major criticism is that the game feels more like a visual novel with easy fetch quests, lacking the complexity and puzzles of other detective games like Professor Layton. The story is also criticized for being lacking in depth and leaving unanswered questions, such as the origins of Deoxys and the motivations of Unitas. The ending is described as abrupt and unsatisfying. Furthermore, some customers complain about the lack of player agency and the excessive amount of dialogue that interrupts gameplay. The game is described as being too scripted and lacking real choices. One customer went as far as calling it a "giant waste of money." Another frustration is the inability to back out of conversations, resulting in having to go through the entire dialogue again if accidentally triggered. Overall, the US Version of Detective Pikachu™ Returns has received mixed reviews. While the game has its positive aspects, such as cute graphics and voice acting, it falls short in terms of gameplay, story, and interactivity.
