The thickness of the arm is standard 3/4" square tube, which means that you can expect interchangeability with Gouge Sharpening Jigs from different manufacturers such as the Savannah Pro-Grind. To use the jig, you need to have bought the basic Wolverine base previously, which comes with a flat plate to grind plane blades and chisels, or a v-shaped base mounted at the end of an insertable arm for lathe tool. You can also make your own base if you are inclined, as some professionals do.
