What is Cascade 128 Superwash yarn used for?

Cascade 128 Superwash is a versatile yarn that's perfect for a multitude of knitting and crocheting projects. It is particularly well-suited for items like sweaters, blankets, hats, and scarves due to its soft texture and warmth. Its vibrant color, Ruby #893, adds a beautiful pop to any finished project.

Is Cascade 128 Superwash yarn suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, Cascade 128 Superwash is a great choice for those with sensitive skin. The yarn is crafted from 100% superwash Merino wool, which is known for its softness and comfort against the skin. This quality makes it an excellent option for baby items and garments that will be worn close to the body. Additionally, the machine-washable feature provides peace of mind for parents and crafters alike.

How many yards are there in one skein of Cascade 128 Superwash?

Each skein of Cascade 128 Superwash contains 128 yards (approximately 117 meters) of yarn. When planning your project, consider the yardage requirements on your pattern to ensure you have enough yarn for a complete and beautifully finished piece.

What weight category does Cascade 128 Superwash belong to?

Cascade 128 Superwash is categorized as a bulky weight yarn, specifically classified as a #5 yarn. This weight makes it suitable for projects that require both warmth and quick work, as bulky yarn tends to knit up faster than lighter weights. It's particularly popular for cozy winter items, allowing crafters to create thicker, more substantial garments and accessories with ease.

Can Cascade 128 Superwash yarn be used for machine washing?

Absolutely! One of the key features of Cascade 128 Superwash is its superwash treatment, which allows it to be machine washed. This characteristic makes it suitable for busy lifestyles where hand washing isn’t practical.
