The instructions are clear, but some assembly steps are unclear, making it more suitable for someone with smaller hands. There will be some moments of frustration as there are a lot of parts on this model. It is recommended to take your time, sand everything that needs to be sanded, and use a regular candle instead of the tiny piece they provide. Waxing parts before assembly helps but some parts will require the use of a needle-nose pliers. The measurements of the model are 14.88" x 4.33" x 9.94" closed and 15.5" x 9.25" x 9.84" open. This model is well-designed, with most parts fitting very well, but some parts like toothpick axels are the common break point and problematic. The finished model has a number of moving parts, such as the cargo bay doors, loading crane, submarine loader, and boat movement, but take into account the research vessel is more advanced than other models in UGEARS range. It will not run reliably, and the gears system does not work properly, even if it is assembled perfectly. Despite the minor flaws, it is still an excellent example of UGEARS models that you will enjoy building.
