- And Then Some! Going Beyond Expectations is more than a book-it's a call to action. Every so often, you meet someone whose life is not just a story, it's a message. Dr. Don Johnson is one of those rare individuals. His journey from humble beginnings in St. Louis, Missouri, to becoming one of the most respected business leaders, community servants, and mentors in the region is a testament to what is possible when faith, hard work, and a commitment to others come together. This book is about more than a career, more than a set of accomplishments, and more than a man's personal history. It's about a principle-a way of living-that Dr. Johnson has both inherited and perfected: the And Then Some principle. It's the idea that success, influence, and legacy are built not by doing the bare minimum, but by showing up, serving wholeheartedly, keeping your word, and then giving more-more time, more effort, more care, more love-than anyone expects.Don learned these lessons early from his father, Hezekiah HK Johnson-a man of quiet authority, deep integrity, and unshakable faith. HK was a laborer by trade, a deacon in the church, and a problem-solver who could fix just about anything. He modeled to his son that strength is not always loud, and leadership is not always about position; it's about character, consistency, and service. From the early lessons in his family home to the decades he spent building a thriving State Farm agency, leading community initiatives, and mentoring the next generation, Dr. Johnson has lived out his father's values in every sphere of his life. His story is proof that the And Then Some principle isn't just good business advice-it's a blueprint for a life that pleases God, blesses others, and leaves a legacy that will inspire and guide for decades to come.In these pages, you'll hear stories of challenges overcome, relationships built, and opportunities seized. You'll also find actionable steps at the end of each chapter-practical ways you can begin applying the And Then Some mindset in your own life, work, and community. I hope that as you read, Dr. Johnson's journey won't just inspire you; you'll be moved to write your own. Because if there's one thing his life proves, it's this: when you live with integrity, invest in others, and give just a little more than expected, you leave legacy footprints that last.Dr. Don Johnson, a respected business leader, deacon, mentor, and philanthropist, reveals the timeless principles that shaped his extraordinary journey. From his father's quiet wisdom in St. Louis to his own decades of influence as a State Farm Select Agent, motivational speaker, and community leader, Johnson unpacks the lessons of faith, leadership, and legacy that can transform your life.At the heart of his message are four keys that open the door to opportunity and impact: Personal Value - Knowing who you are and what you stand for.Integrity - Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.Relationships - Building authentic connections that last.Deliverables - Consistently exceeding expectations with and then some.Wit
